They were surprised about the risk factors,dangers of high blood pressure and also their blood pressure readings after the screening.More than half of the people knew about high blood pressure but did not know the dangers associated with it.They enjoyed the education and were well informed.Out of the 90 people screened,20 people had a normal blood pressure readings,28 people had a normal reading but are on antihypertensive medications,32 people recorded a higher blood pressure reading but are not known hypertensive patients and 10 people had defaulted on their medication and had abnormal readings too.Apart from the group education given to the people,one on one education was also given to those with high blood pressure readings.They were also instructed to report to the nearby clinics, hospitals for continuous monitoring of their blood pressure and prompt therapy.Follow ups to be done by our team.
