Pregnancy induced hypertension or Pre-Eclampsia is a disorder of pregnancy characterised by high blood pressure and large amount of protein in urine.It accounts for about 70% of all cases of hypertension globally and about 24% in maternal death.It can cause several health risk to both mother and baby.It occurs mostly after the 20th week of pregnancy.The most common signs and symptom is persistent headache,high blood pressure and large amount of protein in urine.During pregnancy,it is important to keep yourself and the baby healthy.This includes eating a healthy diet with low salt,more vegetables and fruits;and going for regular ante-natal checkups.When did you check your blood pressure?It is also important to free yourself from too much stress especially at the workplace or in your home.
